Pumpkin Spice Restaurant Pancakes (Chicago Area)--updated 10/17/2016

Here is my non-encyclopedic guide to the pumpkin pancakes of Chicagoland.

Fourth Place: Elly's Pancake House produces very thick pumpkiny pancakes with no significant spice flavor and icing that tastes somewhat like maple syrup or brown sugar.  Nice enough but not really hitting it over the plate.  In my opinion when it comes to pumpkin pancakes: more is more. (5/10)

Third Place: Wildberry Cafe makes a nice pumpkin pancake but covered in excessive amounts of dry spices and a miserly serving of cinnamon butter. (6/10)

Second Place: Good ol' Denny's hits the spot with a spicy pumpkin pancake that is less thick but more wide and includes a good handful of delicious candied pecans with a drizzle of caramel sauce. (6/10)

First Place: Egg Harbor Cafe pulls out all the stops with a stack of equally delicious pancakes, with candied pecans, whipped cream, and wonderful sweet cinnamon butter.  A winner!  (7.75/10)
